Well after a 2-3 hour drive from Seattle to Portland in the rain, I
arrived to find that the rain had subsided for a while at least.

The opening band was Barbarella. They were a pretty non-descript rock
band, not bad, but not great. They played for around an hour and most
of the crown seemed to enjoy it.

When Mike and the boys took the stage it became very obvious that the
100 or so people there were salivating at the chance that they were
about to relive their long lost youth. People Pogo-ing, Fists Pumping
high in the air, and everyone singing along to the type of music that
is so very absent from the world today. Everyone sang every song from
beginning to end. In a word the show was remarkable. They played for
nearly a minidisc and a half or around an hour and a half.

The set was pretty much the same as the previous shows. The band
seemed to be doing an incredible job of playing the Alarm songs. I
closed my eyes on several times to just listen and thought that they
did the best job of playing the songs of any full electric band that I
have heard since November 8, 1989, the last show that The Alarm played
in Seattle. The only slight and I do mean slight problem was that Mike
sounded like he had a bit of a sore throat. His voice does seem to
crack on a couple of occasions. This didn’t seem to bother anyone in
attendance.
