Summary
The Tube was a prime time music show broadcast live at 6pm on Friday evenings, and at the time was the prime “alternative” music show in the UK. It’s winning formula was based on allowing bands the opportunity to play short sets fully live rather than miming as was common on other TV shows at the time.
