(War)
(This Ain't Love) This Is War

Hit it

You say you need me like you need hypertension
If I fell to sleep right now I know you'd put me right out of action
To say we've lost control would be an understatement
This thing that we're undertaking... this ain't love this is war
This is war

Whatever I say to you whatever I try to do
I can't do the right thing woman .. right for doing wrong to you
To say we're going nowhere is shooting wide of the mark
We're heading for a confrontation... this ain't love this is war

This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war

(It's like a jungle, sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under)

I will raise the white flag woman .. I will call a truce
I'm going to surrender babe.. lay down my guns to you
Don't you want to do the right thing now we're bound for collision course
We've triggered off a chain reaction... this ain't love this is war

This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war

War

This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war

Don't you want to do the right thing now we're bound for collision course
We've triggered off a chain reaction... this ain't love this is war

This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war
This aint't love this is war

Mike Peters Notes
:”One of my first major influences as a musician was The Clash who were always a challenge to their audience. They have to take the credit for bringing Rap to the UK I remember the hostility when Grandmaster Flash ‘opened’ for them, on one of their early tours, a hostility which turned to admiration upon the release of ‘The Message.’ The stuttering lyrics have remained timeless and worked perfectly over the music of ‘War.’ The production is deliberately lo-fi, in fact the whole track was recorded and mixed in only a few hours. I may have had all the time in the world to record the album but sometimes speed ‘creates an excitement all of it’s own”.
