‘Spiritual’ [5:40] (Mike Peters), Mike Peters
Lead Vocals:Mike Peters
Lyrics
:
We've got to find a way to heaven Before our lives reach the ends Oh why is life oh so fatal? Each day is filled with emptiness The world is full of cruel beauty We fall asleep so afraid If there's a God in the heavens When will he answer our prayer? Oh yeah. Love is not of the earth Love is spiritual Yes it is Yes it is Love is not of the earth Love is spiritual Yes it is Yes it is Spiritual Look through the windows of the soul Heaven is somewhere in the heart We've got to find our salvation Tomorrow we may have to part Love is not of the earth Love is spiritual Yes it is Yes it is Love is not of the earth Love is spiritual Yes it is Yes it is For what is a man without a woman Heaven on earth is hell without you Yes it is Oh yes it is (Yes it is) Love is not of the earth Love is spiritual Yes it is Yes it is Love is not of the earth Love is spiritual Yes it is Yes it is (Spiritual) (Spiritual) We've got to find a way to heaven (Spiritual) (Spiritual) (Spiritual) Love is, love is spiritual (Spiritual) We've got to find a way to heaven (Spiritual) Love is spiritual Spiritual Love is . spiritual Spiritual Oh lord (Spiritual) Love is spiritual Yes it is, yes it is Yes it is, yes it is (Spiritual) Got to find a way, find a way to heaven Somehow, somehow, somehow I gotta find a way A way to be together We gotta find away 'Cause love is spiritual

Mike Peters Notes
:”Yes. ‘The world is full of cruel beauty’, the more we know, the less we understand. The deeper the love of life, the greater the need for faith. Faith in the need for a better world to live in and faith in the hope of a better world beyond. My faith veers between the certain and the uncertain as I hope this record shows. I have tried to hold nothing back.”
(21st Century Fanzine #2)
I wrote “Spiritual” just before my father died, which was immediately prior to recording “Raw”. If I had continued to record another album with The Alarm I would have offered the it to the group for consideration along with any other songs I may written at the time.
