Armed with the unique electro-acoustic Auden Vigilante and an expanded one-man band rock sound, driven by a radical rhythm machine and bass drum, Mike Peters will bring the full energy of The Alarm Acoustic to Swansea Arena on Tuesday October 22nd 2024.
The concert has been on sale since The Cult tour was first announced and a Low Ticket notice has just been announced. All other dates on the tour are already SOLD OUT, so any Alarm fans wanting to attend the Swansea date should aim to book tickets as soon as possible.
“I’m honoured to be able to play with The Cult at Swansea Arena on October 22nd”, says Mike Peters. “I’m also grateful for the emotional support from both Billy Duffy and Ian Astbury since I was first diagnosed with Richter’s Syndrome last April, and so looking forward to sharing the stage with them following our concert together at Cardiff Castle last summer. To be invited to play with The Cult is a real lifeline as I am preparing for imminent stem cell transplant. Hopefully a matching blood donor will be found soon, and I can begin the next steps on the pathway towards an eventual cure.”
The Cult 8424 Tour commemorates 40 years as a band, with shows spanning the U.K. and Europe.
The Cult hold a significant place in musical history due to their pioneering use of post-punk, hard rock, and experimentalism, pushing boundaries and influencing countless bands across multiple genres.
With their musical prowess, uncompromising attitude and captivating stage presence, they forged a distinct identity while charting new territory for bands to explore.
From Billy Duffy’s formative, and influential, years in the Manchester underground, to Ian Astbury’s groundbreaking Gathering of the Tribes, the duo has left an indelible mark on modern music, shaping its trajectory in profound ways.
