The Alarm literary week with Mike Peters promises to be an extraordinary week-long series of events, unveiling for the first time ever in the world, Mike Peters’ forthcoming self-penned autobiography Love Hope Strength which is to be released in three volumes beginning with Love 1959-1991 on November 1st 2024 (Book available to pre-order at 10am on June 7th 2024 – Link to be announced on June 5th).

Each individual evening will centre around the timeline of a particular classic album beginning with Declaration on Sunday September 22nd and continuing throughout the week towards a Best of Mike Peters and The Alarm finale on Saturday 28th 2024 with an expanded capacity at Dyserth Community.
“I’m so grateful for the love and support of my family, the Alarm community and the medical team at The Christie who have all helped me find a way to deal with the difficult challenges of this current Chemotherapy phase and the demands of the long road I face to find a potential cure for Richters Syndrome.” says Mike Peters. “Writing the book has given me a focus and purpose throughout this immediate challenge of the R-Chop / Alcabrutinib Stellar Clinical Trial. The medics at the Christie have told me that as long as I listen to my body, stay away from international travel and take all necessary precautions then they are happy for me to try and live as normal a life as possible while the Chemotherapy does it’s work. I know for a fact that I will be in this Chemotherapy Phase One until at least The Alarm Literary Week begins which as far as I’m concerned gives me a license to perform shows acoustically and in a safe controlled environment. I have been doing my best to negate the effects of the chemotherapy drugs by walking every day and combatting the side effects of the trial drug by staying as mentally strong as possible. It’s not been easy so far, but the fact that I have a show with Status Quo to focus on next week, gives me the motivation to rehearse and make sure my voice stays strong for the summer and all the other shows and festivals that are scheduled between now and October 1st which presents the first window of opportunity to proceed into Phase 2 and a hopefully life-saving Stem Cell Transplant. Nothing is certain, but I remain optimistic, focused and determined to attain a positive outcome and look forward to sharing my life story for the first time in person at The Alarm Literary Week with Mike Peters this September 22nd-28th 2024.”
