The Alarm Literary Week with Mike Peters is completely Sold Out!
September 22nd – 28th 2024 @ The Red, Dyserth , North Wales.

September 22nd – 28th 2024, promises to be a special week of classic Alarm acoustic album concerts and the first ever official readings from Mike Peters forthcoming autobiography LOVE 1959 – 1991. Fans from all over the globe will be attending and Mike Peters is already preparing for a marathon week of performances.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone at The Red for The Alarm Literary Week,” says Mike Peters. “I’ll be sharing some of my rock and roll stories in an intimate setting over the entire Literary week and of course, blasting out a “Best Of” set on the Saturday night at the Community Hall in Dyserth. As far as my health is concerned, everything is moving in the right direction with the team at The Christie hospital in Manchester. There’s no conventional playbook for Richter’s

Syndrome and Professor Bloor (who is the lead Haematologist), is considering and pursuing every angle possible to help me stay alive and find a way to cure. It’s a long road ahead, but I’m convinced that  playing music and singing is acting as a complimentary therapy and helping the chemoimmunotherapy work even better than expected, which is another reason why being able to perform at the Literary Week means so much to me.”

Fans around the country will also have the chance to see Mike Peters in concert during the Return To Steel Town tour with Big Country (see dates below).

I’m trying my best to honour all my live commitments ahead of the forthcoming Stem Cell Transplant,” continues Mike. “I would like to thank everyone who has sent messages of support to me and my family, all those who attended the amazing festival shows this summer or travelled to The Red for a Friday Night out. The energy and prayers from all directions has been overwhelming at times, and I know I’m so lucky to have the support of so many. I’m still not sure what the future has in store for me, but I’m ready and prepared for whatever’s next. I shall keep singing and playing my guitar until the last minute, when hopefully the right donor can be matched to me and the date for transplant set. Bring it on.

Mike Peters autobiography Love 1959 – 1991 is set for release on November 1st by publisher A Way With Media. Lots of fans have been enjoying dialogue with editor Andrew Richardson as they organise their hand written dedications for their limited edition numbered book plate.

At present, there are no immediate plans for a paperback edition and audio book, although they will be given consideration once Mike has undertaken his stem cell transplant and completed the final instalment of the three volume work.

I’m very close to completing volume 2 – Hope,” say Mike Peters. “I wrote 158,000 words for V1 and V2 is shaping up to be of a similar count. I imagine that by the time I have finished V3 in 2026, it will be up there with the kind of word count found in Tolkien’s Lord of The Rings trilogy!!! It’s only then that I can begin to focus on a paperback edition and / or audio book. I would imagine that a paperback edition would need to be edited, paraphrased and shortened down into a standard 90,000 word autobiography that won’t cover the kind of historical detail, side story anecdotes and musical analysis that I have put into the large format books but that’s for another time. Same with an audio book, the work has to be completed before I can embark on that kind of endeavour. I’m really proud of how Volume One – Love 1959 – 1991 has turned out, it’s a beautiful piece of art and so much more than a normal book. There’s hundreds of unseen photos from my archive, an audio Life Soundtrack CD and LP, plus a reproduction of my original scrapbook which I started in 1978 and where this whole process truly began. I’m so pleased to be working with the team at A Way With Media who have given me the platform to tell my story without restriction or editing the content down. Its an incredible act of faith on their part, and I hope that when everyone eventually comes to read the books, they will be rewarded with an in person, emotionally driven, definitive and historically accurate account of my life and times.”
