THE HISTORY BEHIND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LIGABUE AND MIKE PETERS….
Ligabue is an Italian songwriter who has released 6 albums (all went to number 1 in the chart). Ligabue writes rock music, honest songs that speak directly to the heart of the people and incredible live shows that made him the most successful live act in Italy. Ligabue music does not follow any trend or fashion and can sometimes remind people of Bruce Springsteen and U2 because of Ligabue’s passionate and inspired songs.

Ligabue is also successful in the movie world. He directed a movie: “Radio Freccia”, story of one of
the first Italian rock independent radios in Italy in the 70s. The movie went to number one too and won many critic awards. A few weeks ago Ligabue presented at the Cannes film festival his newest movie titled “From Zero to Ten” where he also wrote the soundtrack.

Ligabue’s new cd “Fuori Come Va?” (“How is it going outside?”) , released last month, is glued to the top of the Italian album chart while the single is at the top of the radio and sales chart.

This week, Ligabue presented his forthcoming tour with a press conference held at the Milan-Inter football museum, inside the San Siro Stadium. The choice of this bizzarre location is immediately clear: Ligabue will open his summer tour with two consecutive nights at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on the 5th
and 6th of July, followed by a concert at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome!

The first Milano gig is already sold out and the remaining 2 gigs are expected to be sold out really quickly for a total of 180.000 people. A special triangular-shaped stage (each side is 156 meters long) designed by
Jimmy Palace, that will enable Ligabue to reach different areas of the stadium. “I didn’t wanted the contact to be limited to the first rows” he explained.

At the press conference Ligabue also unveiled the support acts which includes Starsailor on the 5th, the Australian songwriter Alex Lloyd on the 5th and 6th and Welsh band The Alarm MMII on all 3 concerts.
More support acts will be announced soon.

On the choice of support acts, Ligabue commented: “Starsailor released a very good record,
Alex Lloyd is a new songwriter that deserves attention and reminds me of Elvis, while with The Alarm there’s quite a strong relationship. I saw Mike Peters playing a blinding solo gig in occasion of the 20 years of the Alarm in a concert venue near my hometown: he really gave everything over a 3-hour set telling anecdotes about the problems in his life and within his band. He also invited me onstage and together we played a Dylan’s cover. When Mike Peters asked me if The Alarm can open my concerts it has been a real
pleasure to say yes.”
