Day 1 – Part 2

I’m now on stage in Manchester Academy and the lights are swirling around my head. To my immediate right is Bruce Watson and to my left Mr. Tony Butler, it’s a bit like going into battle with your best mates beside you. I’d go anywhere with these two especially knowing that Mark Brzezicki is picking up the rear and Jamie Watson is out there in the outside right position (that’s number 7 in my book… Best, Robson, Cantona, Keane, Beckham, Ronaldo…. erm Owen).

The view straight ahead is pretty spectacular… Big Country fans as far as the eye can see. “If you could see what I could see”, as the song says. Before you know it, I’m in the middle of all the action with my new ‘in the crowd’ gig platform (Thanks Karl..), and I’m singing with the choir itself what a moment. Over the barrier and an emotional ‘Tracks Of My Tears’ and boom it’s back in the dressing room. John Giddings (U2/ Rolling Stones / Madonna agent) comes by to say hello as does Simon Moran of SJM Concerts. Back at the hotel we all assemble for a drink in the bar.

It’s good to back with the BC family again… Liverpool here we come.
