Rewind: 60 Years of Welsh Pop returns to the British TV Screens for a new – Series 2 starting on July 7th 2023 with another dazzling run through the archives of Welsh centric music artists and events along with a first of a kind special program dedicated exclusively to Mike Peters and The Alarm which will air on Friday August 4th, 2023.
This very special episode has been overseen by BBC Wales’ Julian Carey and features fascinating and previously unseen footage of Mike and the band from 1983 through to 2016.
The first series (which is still available on iPlayer), features a decade-by-decade romp through the TV archives, celebrating some of the best – and occasionally, more obscure – Welsh artists to have soundtracked people’s lives, whilst sometimes taking the opportunity to highlight the Welsh connections of some pop acts and reclaim them for the nation!
The first series was a runaway success for BBC Wales and episode 3 featured performances from The Alarm, Visage, Scritti Politti, Shakin’ Stevens, The Darling Buds and many more, including perennial Welsh Pop legend, Tom Jones with Art of Noise. Check it out here.
