Evening opened with Mike in his solo acoustic mode.
Played Rise, High On The Hill & Breathe before introducing the smiling Mr
MacDonald, joining him on second acoustic guitar (turns out Eddie is a
pretty good guitarist, even after all these years away from being a
professional musu).
Anyway, acoustic set continued like this:
Marching On
Where Were You Hiding
The Stand
Deceiver
Strength
Deeside
How The Mighty Fall
Power To Overcome (a song Eddie said he was just finishing off but didn't
make it clear if it was a MacDonald or a MacDonald/Peters)
Rose Beyond The Wall
Rain In The Summertime
Rescue Me
Sold Me Down The River
68 Guns
Spirit Of 76
Blaze Of Glory

After a short interval, Mike & Eddie returned to play the Flesh & Blood
album, backed by the string section from the Cardiff School Of Music.
Didn't write down the song order, but they pretty much played them in the
order of the play, with Mike giving a brief synopsis of the scene inspiring
each song. They were joined on backing vocals on one song by Helen Griffin,
the play's author.
The one song that was played out of order was the excellent St Davids Day,
which was left to the end because it featured the Morriston Orpheus Choir.
Following St Davids Day, the evening concluded with a brilliant performance
of A New Wales and an impromptu, unrehearsed rendition of Merry Xmas (War Is
Over). Full marks to choir & strings who gave a worthy rendition on no
notice & without the music.
The choir departed & Mike played a new arrangement of Walk Forever By My
Side, arranged for strings & piano to close the weekends events.

Almost all of the evening performance was recorded, including Mike & Eddie's
acoustic set.
