A Message from Evan Peters:
Every year in Feb for as long as I can remember we would celebrate dad’s birthday by travelling to Aspen Colorado as a family and ski together. This was all made possible by our friends, Julie Lampton and Patrick Vaughan. Mum (Jules) sumitted Kilimanjaro for our charity Love Hope Strength with Julie in 2009 and Julie offered to teach us to ski. Julie lives in Aspen which was a result! I don’t think she expected my Mum to take her up on the offer but as soon as we were old enough Mum did! Julie panicked a bit I think and called her friend and massive Alarm fan Patrick (or Patty as we call him). Patrick was originally from Pleasantville New York now living in Aspen and loved dad like mad so I don’t think he could quite believe that we would all be arriving without a clue how to ski. Every night we would go out together after a full day on the mountains and we became a proper family meeting up every year and celebrating Dad’s birthday. In Feb 2024 we took our last trip as a family to Aspen not knowing that it would be our last as a family. So this Feb we didn’t want to go skiing as its all too raw at the moment which made me think of something else we could so as a family together to celebrate Dad’s birthday on Feb 25th. I think dad would like that we have turned his birthday into a concert and I’m looking forward to choosing a fantastic set list which celebrates the amazing song writer he is. I hope you can join me Mum (Jules) Dyl, Andy, Gary, Nan Taid, Del Cangi and all our friends and family here in The Red for a very special weekend.
On Friday Night at The Red I’ll be DJing just like Dad used to do. We have the same taste in music so I’ll be playing some of his vinyl. On Sat I’m putting together my favourite Alarm songs for a full on set. On Sun we’ll be hosting The Red Alarm Jam after The Red Ramble in honour of one of my dad’s favourite walks with Ziggy. We’ll also plan to stop off at Dad’s grave to pay our respects and play a song together. Thanks for all the amazing support especially after The Gathering weekend. We are looking forward to a weekend celebrating new beginnings and making new rituals as we learn to live our lives without Dad in it. He will always be by our sides walking in the presence of love.
