The full event itinerary for The Gathering 2018 weekend [Sold Out], has just been released, so that all who are making the journey to Wales, can begin to make plans for the three day (four; if you are attending The Ga-Thur-ing), Alarm extravaganza.
The Friday night ‘Acoustic Evening’, promises to be a spectacular night with Mike Peters performing an ‘in the round’, 30th Anniversary ‘Eye Of The Hurricane’ acoustic set. The evening will also feature an opening slot from very special guest Mr. Ian McNabb [Icicle Works, who went down a storm at last year’s event]. Fans can also expect some super special guest appearances and collaborations.
The ever popular Saturday Convention will host the now traditional ‘Alarm Mastermind’ with Modnus Modnusson, alongside a special film presentation of the BBC Documentary – Mike & Jules – While We Still Have Time.
During the convention, there will be the usual round of impromptu happenings and special surprises before Mike Peters takes to the stage in person, to deliver a ‘live’ Keynote Address concerning the future of The Alarm and beyond. This is surely a ‘must attend’ for all fans……
This year, the Saturday night concert Arena will open early at 18:00 (to allow those amongst the first 300 Gathering ticket holders), to enter the venue early for a pre-show reception with Mike Peters, James Stevenson, Jules Peters and Smiley. More surprises and special announcements are expected.
The Saturday night ‘Electric’ concert will open it’s doors to all remaining Gathering attendees at 19:00. Up on the main stage, there will be a debut performance by Third Generation featuring Dylan Peters (Guitar), Evan Peters (Drums / Lead Vocals), and Carwyn Williams on lead vocal and acoustic guitar.
Our old ‘Alarm’ friend and recent touring partner, the one and only Mr. David Sharp, will take to the stage at 20:00 for a set of his most beautiful acoustic songs, played as ever on his trusted acoustic guitar.
Mike Peters and The Alarm will hit the stage at 21:00 sharp for a full on electric experience as witnessed throughout 2017’s massive series of concert dates. Expect a long set and the possibility of even more special guest appearances.
The Sunday morning session that continues to attract more and more people, will be hosted by Mike Peters from 10:30 onwards in the Love Hope Strength Lounge, and will feature an unveiling of new plans for Snowdon Rocks 2018 and also a presentation on Rock The Canyons.
As always, there will be speeches and music from Mike Peters followed by a guided walk-a-thon along Llandudno promenade to the end of the beautiful Victorian Pier for a closing weekend acoustic set and then heading back to the sanctuary of Venue Cymru for a mass photo and signing session and the opportunity for each and every Gatherer to grab a much needed cup of tea or coffee, and hang out with Mike Peters and the band in person and get all those Gathering 2018 momentoes signed and commemorated.
